3 Reasons Why Your Visitor Visa May Be Denied

There is nothing more discouraging than receiving a negative outcome, especially when it comes to your dreams of visiting Canada. Here are some reasons why visitor visas are denied and how to overcome them.

The problem: The officer Is not convinced you will leave at the end of your stay.

The solution: Make sure you demonstrate that you have ties to your home country which will motivate you to return at the end of your stay. Examples include, but are not limited to: a job, home, financial assets and family.

The problem: You don’t have enough funds available for your trip.

The solution: A trip to Canada can be quite costly, so saving for some funds will both help your application and make your visit more enjoyable. Additionally, if the person inviting you to Canada is willing and able to support your trip, ensure you show this support in both their letter of invitation and in documentation.

The problem: The purpose of your visit.

The solution:  The officer needs to be satisfied that the purpose of your visit is to, well, visit and nothing more. You application should be backed up with evidence such as itineraries and invitations. Any documentation you can provide which supports that you will be in Canada only to visit will help support your case.
